Orienteer at Great Falls This Sunday - If You Register Now

Greg Lennon

Registration is still open to attend this Sunday's (Nov. 11) orienteering event in the Great Falls section of the C&O National Historic Park, (near Potomac, MD), but online pre-registration & payment is required for everyone for this event. [There will not be any walk-up registration due to park rules.]

Thanks to course setter Sam Listwak, there are 3 courses (beginner, 2.4k, intermediate 4.5k, and advanced 8.5k) to choose from, and advanced course orienteers who feel they won't complete the 8.5k will have a 5.5k option.

Event timing is *almost* as usual: check-in between 10:45 - 1:15, start anytime between 11 - 1:30, and be back no later than 3pm. Why *almost*? To help you take into account two factors: first, there is a 600 meter walk to the start from the registration area, which itself is a walk from the parking lot, and second, to remind you that  on a colorful Fall Sunday there's often a bit of a line approaching the booth where you pay the National Park entrance fee.

And indeed, sunny weather with a fine incentive to keep moving (brisk temperature!) is in the forecast, so register now and then dress accordingly ... and after your event, don't forget to take advantage of the half-price pizza for all participants, as detailed along with all course details on our event webpage.

So register now, and see you Sunday!
